PRO TRUCK CHALLENGE WEEKEND 5
Superdome - NEW ORELEANS, LA
Ladies and Gentleman, Welcome to the Louisana Superdome! Fresh off the All Star event 2 weeks ago every truck has pick up their equipment and made the long hault to New Orleans. Instead of competing all at once however, the contenders will be split up into 3 groups, racing one group per day. Some Exciting racing is sure to happen on this weekends course, As 48 trucks will compete on a Chicago style track, with a slight PTC style twist. Replacing the set of cars in each lane will be two buses lengthways, side by side in either lane! This is going to make for some high flying action, and drivers are going to want to catch minimum air so that they can settle back down and enter the turn at the optimum angle. We take a look at the pit party, catch up with our Pole setters of the night.
Number 1 story for group A is Avalanch Warning, Patrick Caroll comes from almost last place and sets a blistering time, and leaving everyone else wondering what just happened. Also interesting is Thomas Lentz in the Ford powered Cold Fusion Dodge, third in points overall gets third on the pole today. A win here in the Superdome could see Cold Fusion back in first place for the first time since Season 1. Bigfoot does not qualify well, it would seem the champion still has not gotten the big blue ford running the way it should, and Grave Digger in a shocking turn of events is dead last in time trials for Friday.
Hatrick Motorsports is certainly having fun at this pit party, not only does Patrick have pole for friday, but Robbie Carroll in Mini Bling has secured Saturday's pole as well! These guys could certainly use these points to get out of their slump, and either are more than capable of getting the win. Bryan Muir's Love Bug, fresh off a win at Truckfest and the All Star Event, comes in second on Saturday, is this dub one to watch? Current Co Point leader Glenn Milburn in Ground Pounder qualifies at an abismal 10th place, it'll be hard to recouperate from that. Drawing up the rear in Saturday's race is Jason Rivas in Cyclops. Jason in his rookie season is having a tough time, which only leaves room to get to the top!
Then, seemingly out of no where, Ryan Roberts back with a vengeance as he not only takes Off The Wall to the pole position for Sunday, but he puts down the fastest lap of the night! Ryan is certainly doing better with the all new powerplant from Team Pman, and he'll prove it tonight. Blue Thunder II with Cat Candita places second, it seems she is running good and is aiming for that points lead! Old Timer brings up the rear out of group C.
Friday Night
Round 1
Louisana is on their feet with anticipation, as fast qualifier Patrick Carroll and Avalanch Warning pull to the line, blue lights on, on the other side it's the well feared Mario and Grave Digger! Both trucks are staged green is out and Digger is shut down! Avalanch Warning gets a huge jump, Digger has malfunctioned and is not running, Avalanch Warning is shut down, what a disapointment as this was sure to be a good match up. Patrick will move on to round 2 where he'll face the winner of the next matchup.
eremy Ellis, a rookie in a well known name, is set up on the line to do battle with a veteran. Dave Collard of Misfit Motorsports, famous in the MTM2 circuit has his Skull Crusher here tonight. Thomas Lentz qualified third today, and he'll take on CRB Motorsports Miss Bigfoot and Lujeena Bean. All Ford power on the line, Green is out with Cold Fusion off the line in the lead. Now its the champs turn, CRB motorsports Chris Biluk in Bigfoot has returned to its normal body after running the classis 70's look last event. He'll take on 11th in points, Brad Shaw and Team Pman's Electric Death. Brad has been more aggressive than ever this year, and he stated in an interview earlier how he wants the champ. The Big Pman built Raptor settles down a truck length ahead, into the final turn brad goes a little wide, Bigfoot on the throttle hard trying to seize the moment but it won't be enough! Electric Death sails over the buses and puts Bigfoot on the trailer!
Travis Sewillo and his Mountain Dew truck have been trying to make a name for themselves all season, and a win against Tygo Degen and Fire Fighter would certainly do the trick for him. Both trucks are staged, Green is out, Tygo with the jump! Firefighter pulls a nice lead off the line, Mountain Dew seemed to bog down when Travis gave it full throttle, it seems to be having acceleration issues. He's got it going now though, and isn't to far behind Fire fighter. He'll have to really push it as Tygo is already out of the turn, heading to the buses! Mountain Dew is screaming playing catch up, perfect turn for Travis gains him some ground, but Tygo is in the last turn as Mountain dew is in the air, Travis lands hard and brings it all the way to the edge of the course before bringing it back, he gains more ground but it won't be enough, Fire Fighter is on the ground and this race is in the books.

Zach Prochera pulls to the line representing his own Prochera Motorsports, TNT built by Jake Smallwood and campaigned by Team Pman for many years, it is now an independant. He'll take on Cal27 Racing's Cyclone. Cyclone has been doing great all season, this should be a good one. Green is out and Cyclone is sleeping! TNT with a big wholeshot, Ethan is behind right off the line! Both trucks seem to struggle a bit in the turns, TNT still has the advantage, out of the turn and over the buses the trucks come to the final turn, Cyclone is pouring on the power, its almost even coming the buses, up and over its TNT by a slim margin! What a win for Prochera Motorsports!
Takin Chances defeats Dirt

Pulling to the line is Son Of Sam, he'll take on Avalanch Warning of Misfit Motorsports. You've got to give the edge to Jeremy Ellis, as Avalanch Warning has yet to run today. Green is out, and they are even! No ground to either truck as they enter the first turn, Son Of Sam slightly wide while Patrick nails it! coming out of the first turn indeed Patrick has the lead up and over the buses neither truck is gaining, into the final turn Patrick makes a mistake! He bobbles for a second and its enough for Jeremy to catch up, he comes to the bus stack first, Patrick on the throttle hard he's right with him but its not enough! Son Of Sam pulls out what you've got to call an upset.
Team Pman is here in force, and the trucks pulling to line now are exact twins, with different bodies, and of course, drivers. Third in points Cold Fusion with Thomas Lentz takes on teamate Brad Shaw in Electric Death, trying to fight his way into the elite top 10. Green is out and even off the line! This is going to be a very close race as these drivers know each other in and out. halfway through the first turn, still no advantage, as they come out of the turn clean, they appoach the buses and soar over with big Ford power screaming. settling down and heading into the final turn, dead even! Thomas and Brad are floored, coming to the final jump, up and over the buses its a photo finish! This one is going to the timing equipment... Cold Fusion! Tygo Degen on one side, Madrat on the other, Lights flashing and sirens wailing, Green is out! Tygo has the jump! Firefighter left the line first, Rat Patrol will now be forced to play catch up. Tygo Degen in Firefighter moves on to the next round.
Takin Chances defeats TNT
Final Four
A matchup that at this years PTC Open would have been called absurd. But here in the Superdome, We see rookie Jeremy Ellis in the Son Of Sam Ford pull up next to rookie Thomas Lentz in Team Pman's Cold Fusion. This final four matchup will decide which rookie gets sent to the final round. Green is out and Son of Sam gets the wholeshot! Jeremy once again leaves the line first, Cold Fusion right with him as they enter the turn, Son Of Sam goes wide! Thomas cuts the inside of the turn, gaining valuable time and he has the lead! Thomas is going for it, Jeremy not laying down at all, on it hard over the buses, he begins to catch up! Son Of Sam and Cold Fusion are nearly even, into the final turn they pour on the power, approaching the buses they fly over and its Cold Fusion! Thomas is making his very first final round appearance!
Tygo Degen wants nothing more than to make this an all Team Pman finals. He's got the truck and the ability to do it, but the question is, will Matt Grossman and Takin Chances be able to stop him? Both classic trucks are staged and ready to go, these two have lined up so many times both want the jump... Green! FireFighter gets a slight jump! Nothing to much but its all about the head games with Tygo, a master of the psyche out. Matt right with him as they go into the turn, Firefighter nails it perfect! A little more ground gained by Tygo, Matt is half a truck behind it seems, he's on the throttle hard to try and catch up as they come to the buses, soaring over Takin Chances with a hard landing, it won't hurt his time as he gets it corrected for the turn. Firefighter now out of the turn and Coming to the stack, Takin Chances right with him, Tygo hits the throttle and soars to the final round!
Final Round

With Blue Thunder II and Ground Pounder still to run tomorrow and Sunday, At this point in the game Cold Fusion has captured the points lead. If he can hold off Blue Thunder and Ground Pounder this weekend, We'll have a rookie in the hot seat! Thomas knows it, and he is ready to race the big Ford Powered Dodge. A win would be the icing on the cake for Thomas, but he'll need to hold off fellow Team Pman member Tygo Degen and Firefighter. Tygo is never one to back down from a challenge. It appears Tygo is playing mind games with Thomas, refusing to pull to the line! Tygo motioning for the crowd to cheer louder, everyone is on their feet for this one! Cold Fusion revs, Fire Fighter revs back, and Tygo finally pulls to the line. Drivers staged, Green light! Tygo gets the wholeshot!
